She'll tell you a tale, she certainly will
Of a magical moment up on a hill

The bus stopped and K-Tee stepped off
Into a wintery haze she stood dazzled, dazed and amazed

Around her - could it be?
A wintery forest of cotton ball trees

Katie is a real child. Her poem was inspired by Dr. Suess, but her story was motivated by snow-covered "cotton ball" trees at Neale Woods. Following her first ever forest experience during a field trip, she convinced her family to begin recycling. Her next goal is to get her friends to do the same, generating an ever-widening circle of devoted caretakers of the Earth.

This is our mission. To inspire current and future generations to care for the natural world.
