All Ages
- Family Sundays at the Forest: Discover something new at the forest every Sunday at 1 p.m.
- Rent a Naturalist: Explore a nature topic of your choice with a naturalist and your friends/family
$25 per hour / max. of 3 hours / max of 12 people To schedule, contact Rick Schmid at (402) 731-3140 ext. 239
- Astronomy Nights: Explore the night sky at the metro area's largest public observatory
- Bird Banding: See birds up close as they are banded and released
- Guided Hikes: Let the forest amaze you with a little help from our Naturalists
- Rock Hound: Bring your rocks to be identified by a Geologist
- Critter Encounters: Meet a few animals up close - and touch, too!
- Meet Our Birds of Prey: Look into the eyes of a live raptor while learning from our trained handlers
- Halloween with the Wild Things: Magical characters will guide you on a search for the Great Pumpkin.
Just for Children
- Mud Pies: Explore nature with your child using interactive nature stations in this adult-child program
- Nature Tales, Stories for Children: Stop by for an entertaining and educational animal tale
- Nature Buddies: Explore a different natural theme each month. Space is limited. (Children ages 5-8)
- Nature Detectives: Investigate the world around you. Space is limited. (Children ages 9-12)
Adults
- Guided Hikes: Challenge yourself! Due to length or difficulty, some hikes are only for adults.
- SUN (Seniors Understanding Nature): Rediscover nature with on-site & traveling programs for seniors (55+)
- Speaker Series: Explore a new topic the first Saturday of each month from September through May
- Bird Identification Class: Become an expert in this three-part class offered each spring
- Birding Club: Learn something new with birders of all skill levels that meet the first Thursday of each month
- FNA Photography Club: Develop new perspectives with photographers of all skill levels that meet the third Thursday of each month
- Teen Naturalist in Training (TNT): Interact with other teens passionate about leadership within the natural world that meet one Saturday each month
